Vaun
Vaun ha servido a los tres ‘Ancianos de América’ como uno de sus cazadores y guardianes del sol. Por lo general, ha actuado como portavoz de los ancianos en estado de trance.
Con vestidos de equipo táctico con una capucha, sus armas preferidas para cazar a su propia especie son láminas de plata y una escopeta a medida que dispara lingotes de plata.
Temporada 1
Vaun apareció por primera vez en el episodio 1×07, en el que encuentra a un pequeño grupo de humanos que constan de una mujer, su hija, y otros dos niños que son vampiros recién convertidos. Después de disparar a los dos vampiros en la cabeza, Vaun pregunta a la mujer si han sido heridos. Ella le responde «No», pero el cazador pide que examinen a los niños de todos modos.
Examinan al niño en primer lugar, seguido de la chica. Tras preguntar a la hija de la mujer si la han herido, ella le muestra el corte en la muñeca, a lo que Vaun reacciona cortando la cabeza de la joven, ya infectada sin aún saberlo, y dejando marchar a la mujer a y los dos pequeños niños.
Temporada 2
Poco después de que Setrakian casi derrotara al amo, Vaun lo lleva a los túneles subterráneos.
Vaun y algunos de sus compañeros de caza se muestran ante Setrakian y le vendan los ojos, llevándole posteriormente delante de los Ancianos, donde Vaun pide a Setrakian que le diga lo que sabe sobre el Amo y revela que los Ancianos eran capaces de ver cómo Setrakian y otros pelearon contra él, cuando el amo perdió el control y no era capaz de ocultar sus pensamientos ante los Ancianos.
Después de eso, Vaun hace un trato con Setrakian y acepta que los Ancianos ayuden a encontrar el Occido Lumen y, a cambio, Setrakian tiene que informar si encuentra al Amo.
Más tarde, Vaun entrena a Gus para matar a los Strigoi empleando armas de fuego, así como el combate mano a mano.
Vaun le dice que están a punto de entrar en una misión, pero es reacio a compartir más detalles con Gus, quien pide respuestas que no se le dan. Después de eso, Vaun vacila por un momento, pero luego revela que ellos van a secuestrar a Eldritch Palmer y necesitan la ayuda de Gus para ello.
Cuando comienza la misión, Gus se hace pasar por un contratista para infiltrarse en la sede Stoneheart de Palmer. Se llama la atención sobre él y permite así que Vaun y los suyos se infiltren en el edificio. Gus se apodera del ascensor para ir al piso donde reside Palmer.
Sin embargo, las capturas de seguridad de Palmer ven el movimiento del ascensor e inician un protocolo de seguridad, por lo que Vaun y los suyos se cuelgan por debajo del ascensor para entrar en el Piso de Palmer a través de una escotilla, para sólo encontrar la residencia de Palmer vacía.
Palmer, que fue avisado de lo ocurrido en el ascensor que llevaba a su planta, decide refugiarse junto a su equipo y su ayudante Coco en una sala de seguridad en las inmediaciones, activando una trampa que oculta rayos Ultra Violeta y que atrapa a Vaun y los suyos.
Vaun, en grave peligro, le dice a Gus que escape, ya que aún lo necesitan. Gus ve a Vaun y los suyos a punto de morir a causa de la quema por Radiación Ultra Violeta mientras se retira huyendo a través del ascensor por el que llegó. Tras esto, Vaun y los que le acompañaban fallecen.
Vaun serves the three American Ancients as one of their Sun Hunters and custodians. Since Ancients have usually been seen in a trance state, Vaun is also the one who is often speaking for them, in contrast to the books where the Ancients spoke for themselves from the onset.
He foreshadows Quinlan who made similar enigmatic appearances, first appearing in cameo, in Book 1 and appears in Season 2.Dresses in tactical gear with a hood. His weapons of choice to hunt down his own kind are silver blades and a customized shotgun that fires silver ingots.
Season 1
Vaun first appears in For Services Rendered where he saves a small group of humans consisting of a maid, her daughter, and two other kids from two newly-turned Vampires.
After shooting both vampires in the head, Vaun asks the maid if they had been injured.
The maid replies «No», however, the hunter asks to examine the children anyways. He examines the boy first, followed by the girl. After they’ve both «checked out» he asks the maid’s daughter if she sustained injuries.
The daughter shows him the cut on her wrist, where he replies «Good good,». Vaun then tells the maid to take the children away, however, before they could leave, he shoots the daughter in the head, preventing her from turning.
Season 2
Vaun is seen soon after Setrakians encounter with The Master, when Setrakian goes to the underground tunnels.
Before Setrakian is able to find The Master, Vaun and few of his fellow Sun Hunters show themselves to Setrakian before blindfolding him and taking him to meet the Ancients.
In front of the Ancients, Vaun asks from Setrakian what he knows about the Master and reveals that Ancients were able to see how Setrakian and others fought against him, when Master lost control and wasn’t able to hide his thoughts from the Ancients.
After that Vaun makes a deal with Setrakian and agrees that Ancients help him find Occido Lumen and in return Setrakian has to inform them if he finds the Master.
Later Vaun trains Gus in killing strigoi, employing firearms as well as close hand to hand combat.
Vaun tells him they are about to go on a mission but he is reluctant to share details prompting Gus to do so or else he will end his service as Sun Hunter immediately. After that Vaun hesitates for a moment but then reveals that they’re going to kidnap Eldritch Palmer.
When the mission begins, Gus poses as a contractor to infiltrate the Stoneheart headquarters. He draws attention to him and allows the vampires with Vaun to infiltrate the building.
Gus dispatches a security guard and seizes the elevator to go to the floor where Palmer resides.
However, Palmer’s security catches wind and initiates a security protocol so the vampires and Vaun who hang from below the elevator enter it through a hatch only to find Palmer’s residence empty. Palmer witnesses this from a nearby security room, activates the UV trap and entraps all vampires.
Vaun in dire peril tells Gus to escape as he is still needed. Gus sees Vaun and the group about to die from UV radiation burning as he retreats through the elevator.
